Senior Mechatronics Engineer | Marine Robotics & Ocean Technology

🌊 Senior Mechatronics Engineer | Marine Robotics & Ocean Technology

📍 London + Spain | 💰 £70,000–£75,000 + package and travel expenses

🇪🇸 Fluent Spanish and English are essential

⚓ Fancy getting out of the lab and putting marine technology to work at sea?

MNRecruit is delighted to be partnering with Samudra Oceans to find a Senior Marine Robotics Engineer to help bring cutting-edge ocean monitoring technology to life.

Are you a hands-on engineer who’s just as happy working on a pontoon or out at sea as you are in the workshop?

MNRecruit is delighted to be partnering with Samudra Oceans to find a Senior Mechatronics Engineer to help deploy and develop cutting-edge ocean monitoring technology.

This is a role for someone who understands how mechanical, electrical and electronic systems work together, enjoys solving real-world engineering problems and isn’t fazed by getting out on the water to make things work.

You’ll be working at the intersection of mechatronics, marine engineering, robotics and ocean technology, taking equipment from the workshop into real marine environments.

🌊 What you’ll be doing

🔧 Installing, commissioning and deploying marine technology in the field.

⚙️ Troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, electronic and electromechanical systems.

🤖 Working with robotics, sensors, instrumentation and integrated hardware.

🚤 Supporting sea trials, marine operations and equipment testing on and around the water.

🛠️ Maintaining and improving equipment, feeding practical engineering insights back to the product team.

🌍 Acting as the senior technical point of contact for Spanish customers and partners.

⚓ What we’re looking for

• 5+ years of hands-on engineering experience.

• A background in mechatronics, marine engineering, naval engineering or naval architecture.

• Experience with hardware integration, electromechanical systems, robotics, instrumentation, commissioning or field engineering.

• Someone who enjoys practical problem-solving and is comfortable working outdoors, around boats and in marine environments.

• Fluent Spanish and English. Both are essential.

Experience in maritime technology, offshore engineering, subsea systems, oceanography, autonomous vessels or marine instrumentation would be useful, but we’re particularly interested in engineers who can make complex technology work in the real world.

📍 The practical details

London-based, with around 5–7 days per month in Spain over the next 18 months. Travel expenses are covered.

You’ll work directly with the technology, customers and product team, helping ensure that what works in theory works out on the water.

🌎 Why Samudra Oceans?

Samudra is developing technology to monitor our oceans, combining robotics, sensors and AI to provide valuable environmental intelligence. It’s an opportunity to put your engineering skills to work on a genuine ocean technology challenge.

If you’re a mechatronics, marine or naval engineer who would rather get hands-on than spend every day behind a desk, I’d love to hear from you.
