GIA is an independent firm of chartered surveyors and technical specialists, known for pioneering rights of light, neighbourly matters, and daylight design in increasingly dense cities. For more than 30 years, they have delivered creative solutions on some of the most prestigious developments in the UK and worldwide. Today, they are seeking a Unity Developer to join their innovative Research & Development team and take the lead on cutting-edge projects that are redefining the built environment.

The Role

 

This position offers the opportunity to design and develop advanced applications that drive urban innovation. Responsibilities include:

  • Designing and developing backend, desktop, and web applications.
  • Building and maintaining RESTful APIs and microservices.
  • Writing clean, efficient, and scalable code in Unity, C#, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
  • Developing spatial databases and optimised queries using PostgreSQL/PostGIS.
  • Supporting full testing cycles, product upgrades, and change management processes.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, future-ready solutions.

 

What They’re Looking For

 

  • Strong Unity development experience, including URP/HDRP pipelines, Addressables, and Job System.
  • Skills in C# (.NET 6/8), Cesium for Unity, PostgreSQL/PostGIS, and Entity Framework Core.
  • Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks such as React with TypeScript.
  • Strong Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD experience.
  • An interest in geospatial technologies, CAD workflows, or cloud deployment would be a bonus.
